Lead Complex Repairs on Heavy-Duty Fleet Equipment
L.A. Fleet Care is looking for an experienced Senior Diesel Technician (Level 1) to join our growing fleet maintenance operation in Sun Valley, California.
This position is ideal for a highly skilled diesel technician with extensive diagnostic experience who can independently troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems, complete major repairs, mentor other technicians, and help maintain high repair standards throughout the shop.

What You'll Do:
- Diagnose advanced diesel engine performance issues.
- Perform complex electrical troubleshooting using wiring diagrams.
- Complete major engine, transmission, steering, and suspension repairs.
- Diagnose and repair DPF, DEF, SCR, and aftertreatment systems.
- Perform DOT and BIT inspections.
- Use advanced diagnostic software including Cummins INSITE, JPRO, IDSS, or equivalent.
- Perform mobile fleet service and roadside repairs.
- Inspect completed repairs for quality and accuracy.
- Mentor and support junior technicians.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation.
- Help improve shop efficiency and repair quality.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive experience repairing heavy-duty diesel trucks.
- Advanced diagnostic experience.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Experience with Cummins INSITE, JPRO, IDSS, or comparable software.
- Expertise in aftertreatment systems.
- Experience performing major mechanical repairs.
- Strong mobile and roadside repair experience.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL Class A (preferred, not required).
- OEM or factory certifications.
- Clean Truck Check certification.
- Experience with Peterbilt, Freightliner, Kenworth, Volvo, Mack, International, Isuzu, Ford, and other commercial truck brands.
- Welding experience.
- Hydraulics experience.
- Liftgate repair experience.
